FRIDAY IS A WONDERFUL DAY

The weather was perfectly fall-like today; rainy with a little bit of a chill in the air. Moreover, making it difficult to be settled at the office. I craved the idea of being home, snuggled under a warm blanket; all the while lost in a book.

COLORADO: THE END OF AN ADVENTURE THE REAWAKINING OF A DREAM

On Thursday my brother, future sister-in-law and I made our trek to the east side of the Colorado mountains to visit and climb with a few of our friends that had recently taken up residence in the quirky town of Boulder. A town known for its many free spirited and unique individuals. A town also known by climbers, for the incredible amount of rock climbing areas that surround.

DIY ON THE ROAD: WRAP BRACELET

When I travel I tend to get a little bit stir crazy. To prevent this I decided to bring some things to do.
This bracelet is so easy. Perfect for that long day on the road.

COLORADO ADVENTURES: PART 2 - DOWNTOWN DELTA, CO

Yesterday we spend most of the day in downtown Delta visiting the little shops along the strip while sipping on our coffee from the cutest coffee shop that we frequent while in town.

So happy to be reunited with my brother and Audrey.

COLORADO ADVENTURES: PART 1

For as long as I can remember I have always loved to explore my grand parent's farm. Even to this day I love to walk around and reminisce about the wonderful adventures I had while growing up all the while finding treasures along the way.
4-wheeling through the woods, my brother and I holding on tightly to grandpa as we traversed the rugged trails, to the river. Exploring the mysterious green house that was once my grandparent's house. Playing in the old machinery. There are so many great memories on this farm.

MAGAZINE CLIP MAGNETS

What I love about these magnets is that they are so easy to make and so small. They add a lot of personality to your fridge, inspiration board, or anything they will stick to!

TUESDAY TREAT: ROSEMARY POTATO CHIPS

I have wanted to make my own baked potato chips for quite some time now and finally had the chance to this past weekend. They turned out to be so delicious!

WEEKEND RECREATION

The weekend began with strawberry pancakes and 50 pounds of clay.
My roommate and I spent nearly all day Saturday throwing on her pottery wheel and making coil pots.
It was a wonderful time getting to spend quality time with my bestie doing what we love. We have declared that creative days like this will happen more often.

A PLACE TO CALL MY OWN

Although I have loved having a variety of room mates throughout the past few years and the adventure of moving from place to place, all I really long for is a place that I can call my own. I feel kind of like an apartment vagabond. I know that's an oxymoron, but I feel like I am homeless in a sense of where my heart longs to be. Nonetheless, I am holding on to the dream in my heart that some day I will have this very thing.

For now, I will take what I am given and make the most of it!

Decorating a home is a big deal to me. From furniture placement, to wall hangings, to lighting. It all works together to set the mood of the home and determines how you feel about living there. I am thankful that I have always seemed to be blessed with room mates that have let me take over in the decorating department - or have at least put up with me wanting to. ;]

My roommates and I moved in to this cute little 3 bedroom town home last June and are still kind of in the process of getting things in order. 4 roommates = a lot of stuff. And I still have a bit of tweaking to do with my room decor (Including some future DIY's). We plan on throwing a themed party once we do bring order to this temporary home of ours. Surely, by the end of August we will be settled.

Thank you for letting me share a little piece of my home with you!
Have a happy friday!

I realize that these photos are not the best of quality, they are old ones from instagram. :]

TUESDAY TREAT: MINI PIZZA

These mini pizzas are a simple yet delicious meal that can be made in about 45 minutes or less.
I find that the most wonderful thing about these little guys is that you can make them out of any of your favorite ingredient combinations. I particularly like to make them when I need to use up veggies before they go bad. I think that they would also be fun for a "create your own pizza" night with friends.
You will need:
-Flat bread (this recipe fits on 6 of the little sandwich round halves. Pita bread is also another great option.)
-Pesto (I used store bought just to save time, you can make your own though.)
-1 Portabella Mushroom
-1 Tomato
-7 baby peppers or 1 large pepper
-1 red onion
-2 handfulls of baby spinach
-6 slices of cheese (I used Muenster, but provolone is tasty too!)

I usually cut deli turkey into strips and add it as well, I just forgot to buy some when I was at the market earlier.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees(f)

While oven is preheating, spread about a teaspoon of pesto on each round half.

Place the round halves in the oven to toast for about 7 minutes
While the bread is toasting, cut each vegetable into thin strips except for the spinach. This will help them to cook faster.
I did not use the whole onion. I cut two thin slices off of it then cut those in half. A little bit of onion goes a long way.
Once toasted, pull the round halves out of the oven and layer on the toppings minus the cheese.
When layering, I suggest starting with the spinach, then layering on the tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers and onions. Spread the ingredients evenly amongst the 6 halves.

Leaving the cheese off, place the pizzas back into the oven for 15 minutes or until the vegetables are partially cooked.
Take the pizzas back out of the oven and place the cheese on top. I usually tear the cheese in half to fit fit it a little bit better.

Change the temperature of the oven from 350 degrees(f) to 400 degrees(f)
Place the pizzas back in for the last time until the cheese starts to brown in some areas. (about 10 minutes)

Once the cheese is browned, take out of the oven and enjoy! (After they have cooled for a few minutes. You wouldn't want to burn your mouth!)

I would love to hear how your mini pizzas turn out!

I'm off to spend the rest of my night lost in the wonderful world of literature.

I wish you all a wonderful night!

ROCK NECKLACE DIY

Hello friends!
I have a very simple project for you tonight that only involves 3 items: A rock, a chain (mines from an old necklace), and jewelers glue.

The other day, as I was making my way to the farmers market, I came across a rock in the shape of an almost perfect triangle. I am infatuated with finding interesting things on the ground like rocks, worn down, broken glass, little pieces of metal, etc. With my love for all things geometric paired with said infatuation my heart leapt for joy when I found this little beauty. I immediately knew that I wanted to incorporate it into a necklace. . .

You will want to find the center of the chain (If it already has a clasp) and set it on the center of the rock.
Then draw a very faint line across the surface of the rock where you want the chain to sit.
Glue over the line and set the chain on top of the glue.

After sitting for a bit and the glue is starts to dry, glue the chain up the sides of the rock. I realize that not everyone will have a triangle rock, just make sure that it is glued to the sides. This insures that the rock will sit upright.

Once the glue is completely dry, its ready to wear!

I hope you have a wonderful night!

FIRST THINGS FIRST

Hello there!
I'm Erin

I can't even begin to express how excited I am about becoming a part of the blogging community!
Having a blog has been a desire of mine for a long time and I finally made it a goal for this year after a little prodding and encouragement from my friends and, now, fellow bloggers.
I hope, not only, to find this blog challenging to myself and my creative abilities, but also to find it as an inspiration to others.

I want One Fine Pine to inspire others to leave the comfort of the walls that surround them and become part of the wonderful world that is around us. There are so many places to explore and people to meet, they just need to be found.
I have a lot of ideas swimming around in my head that I am very excited to share with you in the upcoming weeks, months and years. I'm even excited to see the ways that OFP will challenge me to step out of my comfort zone and into new places.

We all have room to grow.
I would love for you to join me!
