SATURDAY ADVENTURE: CHRISTMAS DOWNTOWN

It was hard to get out of bed on saturday with the weather being so chilly and overcast. By the time 10:00 rolled around, I forced myself to get up. I had plans for the day to get some projects done and maybe work on a few christmas presents; all of that fell through upon waking up. I knew that the Christmas Parade was that day and kind of wanted to see it, since I haven't been to a parade in ages.
I asked my roommate, Terin, if she would like to join me in my ventures. She willingly obliged and we were on our way!  First we stopped by the farmers market to browse what vendors may have braved the chilly weather. There, we got a picture with Santa and Mrs. Clause. Why not? :]

After our brief visit to the farmers market, where I realized that I needed to dress a lot warmer, we ran back home so I could change then headed straight for the parade.

I could not believe the crowd, the streets were flooded with parents and kids, in which, some of the latter did not look very excited to be there. The parade was fun, a lot of cute floats, school bands and ledge standing to see. We actually ran into an instameet and decided to join because we knew a few of the people. (You can see some of our instagrams under the hashtags #sgfadventure and #queencityigers)

After the parade, we walked around and explored the little local shops and boutiques and, of course, took some time to snap a few photos.
Once the group split up, Terin and I decided to try a new pizza place downtown. If you are ever in springfield, get some pizza there! It is a cute little shop and the pizza is delicious.

All in all, we had a wonderful day. It was truly a day of adventure. Unplanned and spontaneous, we tried new things and even made a few new friends.

I hope that this inspires you to get out and about and to explore your town and its celebrations. Bring a friend along! You never know what may happen when you are looking for a bit of adventure. It just might find you!
