THANKSGIVING

thankful for my family and the ability to share special days like this with them. Although, I was sad that Everett and Audrey couldn't join us this year. It was great getting to hang out with my parents. I am thankful for the friends that God has so graciously blessed me with. They are friends that I enjoy being around and can count on. My life is not full of drama and I love that and am very thankful for that. I have been blessed beyond what I could ever wish. By this, I'm not saying that my life is perfect. By no means is it perfect; I have my moments and life has its moments. Bad days come and go, but I always know that I am not alone. Not only am I surrounded by incredible friends and family, I also have a Heavenly Father I can put my faith in. He knows everything I need. I am blessed, and I am so thankful for what God has blessed me with. He is more gracious to me than I could ever deserve.
We enjoyed a brisk walk with my parents this morning through a cute little neighborhood

We stopped by the Grocery store to pick a few things up for our Turkey day meal. The sidewalks outside are now littered with trees, eager to be picked and placed as the center piece in someone's living room. I found some cheese with Herringbone patterned wax. [Those who know me know I love herringbone]. We also found sea turkeys! ;]

This is the scarf that you saw in my last post, its finally done and I am so happy with how it turned out.
The middle photo is a behind-the-scenes with my dad, James who is an incredible photographer. You can view and purchase his photographs here.
Lastly, my dad cooked an incredible meal of cornish hens, asparagus, stuffing, yams with marshmallows and candied apples. Later we ate pumpkin pie paired with vanilla ice cream and watched movies all afternoon.
My mom and I will be making an appearance at the black friday festivities going on at various stores around town. Casually, we will show up after the initial crowd dies down. We went for the first time last year and had a lot of fun and found a few great deals. We thought we'd give it another go this year.

As for you, I hope that you have had a wonderful day. Whether you had the privilege of spending it with loved ones, or braved it alone. No matter where you are, or how you feel, I want you to know that you are loved. I realize that the holidays can be a very hard time for some. Even I, as a single woman, have a hard time sometimes with all of the stress that is placed on having a special someone around the holidays. But I hold on to the knowledge that I have a Father in Heaven that knows exactly what I need and his timing is perfect. I can only let these hard times make me stronger through perseverance.

Have a wonderful night and stay safe if you are braving the crowds!

Love your friend,
Erin

    1. Thank you, Lyssy!
I really don't know how much yarn I used. I kind of just make the scarves as long as I feel fit. I did not use a pattern either. I knit 2 purled 2 down each row. :]
