Another week here and gone. I keep thinking that time is eventually going to slow down, but am beginning to think that its speed only increases with each passing minute. With that, I have tried to make the most of my time by spending my time off well. Whether it is working on projects or taking advantage of time outdoors.
After cleaning I developed a curious craving for Annie's box mac n' cheese mixed with some broccoli and had to make a run to the store to grab some. My dear room mate and best friend, Karisa, decided to join me on my venture. We came back with bags full of Christmassy scented candles, macaroni & cheese, broccoli and buy one get one free holiday drinks from Starbucks. A good bit of the afternoon was spent watching elf and working, each, on our own projects as light conversation and the smell of my new pine candle filled the air.
Later that night I attended a "bonfire" that a few friends were hosting. With clear skies above and a little chill in the air, it was an ideal night to have a gathering around a fire. It was wonderful getting to chat and catch up on life events with friends I haven't seen in a while. I am very thankful for the friendships I have made over the years. There are many people, although we may not see each other often, it seems that we can pick up right where we left off.
This will be a DIY soon! :] |
All in all, my weekend was packed full of great things. When I woke up this morning I felt refreshed and ready to conquer this three day work week!
Tonight I'm off to the climbing gym to build more muscle!
Talk to you soon!
Your weekends always sound lovely (& look lovely!), no matter what you're doing (minus everyone having a stomach bug). But being cozy in bed and working on a project sounds good. I too did some deep cleaning.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Emily :
DeleteI always try to make the most of my weekends (and time off for that matter). It makes life so much more exciting, after having to sit at a desk 40 hours a week. :]

Love your shoes! Are they specifically for hiking? Or just casual shoes? Most hiking shoes I've seen are so bulky.
ReplyDeleteAlso, love the pictures <3
Thank you Alyssa!
DeleteYou know.. I really don't know. I scored these shoes for $5 at a second hand store and have been using them to hike in.
They are Eastland Chukkas from what I have researched them. It doesn't look like Eastland actually sells this exact shoe anymore though.
They are more comfortable with hiking socks and aren't very insulated for the winter.
I do agree with you though. Most hiking boots are super bulky.

Erin we need to climb together soon!!
ReplyDeleteLove the softness of those first few photos. THe rock climbing and exploring looks fun! I haven't hiked around for quite awhile now. I wish it wasn't so cold now...because I would definitely take my fiance and go. He loves the outdoors.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dawn!
DeleteYou definitely should go hiking! Even in the cold it can be fun! You warm up as you walk! :]
Gorgeous nature images! I cannot wait to see that DIY!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what DIY project you make out of it. Lovely photos, girl! And who doesn't crave Annie's mac-n-cheese. That sounds delicious with broccoli ;)
