DAY THERAPY

Today was like a dream. As I seem to do every Saturday, I accidentally woke up at 7:30am but laid awake for thirty more minutes; trying to convince my mind that I was still tired. But soon giving up, seeing that my mind, however, no longer shared the same weariness as my body. I got up and made breakfast and assumed the ordinary tasks of daily life - The ones we sometimes wish did not exist. Such as, laundry, sweeping, and mopping. Today I found these mundane tasks, rather, therapeutic. I let my mind slip into the monotony of my duties and forgot about how difficult this past week has been. Once everything was clean, I felt refreshed, invigorated, ready to take on the rest of my day and able to relax.
I love days like today. I feel that I was able to accomplish a lot, yet still had time to spare for desired activities. I was able to catch up on the latest episode of Project Runway and was satisfied with how the results turned out. The weather was gorgeous today creating the perfect opportunity to turn the air off and open all of the windows - I wish I could have the windows open every day, I love fresh air. Shortly after watching PR I enjoyed the rest of my afternoon outside, in the sun. Watching it set through the trees while I read and pondered.
All in all today was, as I said, like a dream. The only thing I lacked was a hammock.
Breakfast
In my smoothie: Yogurt, Soy Milk, Kale, Strawberries, Banana, Blackberries, Peach
My attempt at a top knot: Accomplished with two hair ties, 2 bobby pins & braided bangs. My hair is stringy and still a little too short.
Lunch
In my bowl: Black Beans, Lettuce, Tomato, Freshly Grated White Cheddar Cheese, Tortilla Chips with Freshly Squeezed lime juice
Reminisced a bit over these old polaroids.
The weather was so perfect and the breeze was a little chilly - giving the perfect opportunity to wear a light sweater.
Dinner
Coffee & Popcorn (made with my Whirly pop)
lightly salted with a touch of real butter
Reading a book titled Captivating. A very insightful book; teaching me a lot about who I am as a woman in Christ.
What things do you usually enjoy or find therapeutic on your days off?
